A month in food


What can you eat that is gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, has no added sugar, no preservatives, no GMO, and uses less meat?

My answer

These are dishes I ate in March of 2017 when I took on an experiment to take care of myself 100% of the time.


These photos plus raw fruits and veggies is what I ate this month. It's left me 9 lbs lighter and never hungry. However, within 2 months I gained the weigh back - keeping it real.

salmon salad
Leftover salmon, greens, oranges, balsamic.
leftover chicken and avocado
Start with any greens, add leftover chicken and avocado.
macadamia halibut
bake 350F, then broil - voila, done.
5 veggie entre
My favorite dish at Marche - Bainbridge Island.
kale & carrot w/grapefuit
Squeeze a slice of grapefruit for your dressing.
butternut squash
Baked squash, onions, and garlic. Blend with salt and pepper, yum.
greens, beets and raddish
balsamic dressing
apple and nut butter
Read ingredient list on nut butters.
sweet potatoes
cajun spice, coconut oil, bake 375F then broil.

keeping  it  real

The not so glamorous that still makes me smile.

poached eggs on greens
Mix the hot egg into the greens as your salad dressing.
dried bananas
They look gross, but not to be overlooked. I'll snag them yellow and on a fire-sale at the grocery, throw them in the food dryer.
leftover meatloaf
Crumble leftover meatloaf, add sun dried tomatoes.
eggs and avocado
This plus a little smoked peppers.
pumpkin soup
Pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla.
asian pear
Yes, fruit has sugar but it's a heck of a lot better than junk food.
