I created COUCH to ACTIVE with one mission in mind,
to get us exercising in a way that helps us smile.
You're not alone.
Eighty-percent of adults are not getting in the minimum exercise recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.
This is bad for our health and we must change.
Clearly, our current fitness industry has missed one giant step in becoming a person who exercises. The industry is failing at helping us actually get the exercise done consistently.
Getting you exercising consistently (with a smile) is my mission.
Our health depends on consistently exercising our whole life. I'm here to help you figure this out in a way that isn't so dreadful and actually helps you smile more.

When it comes to this thing called exercise, I appreciate how hard it can be.
I have three chronic health issues. Still, I get out and exercise every day. These health issues fuel my compassion for people and my understanding of what it really takes to get moving when life gets in the way. Even with my physical challenges, I have completed the Seattle to Portland 200-mile ride six times, and I've completed multiple half-marathons, 10 triathlons, and countless 5K runs.
My personal favorite type of exercise is anything that gets me outdoors with friends and helps bring me peace of mind. Let's work together and figure out how to make exercise a part of your life.
Your Bad Couch Guru
HOW it started
I was over worked, sleep-deprived and battling chronic illness. And like you, I found today's go-hard-or-go-home fitness mantra difficult to swallow. Plus, the pursuit of sweaty six pack abs adorning a bikini-body left me feeling empty and ugly.
I wanted exercise to come more naturally and HELP ME SMILE.
I wanted to actually like it.
So, I dug in and started to figure out why I dreaded fitness so badly and what I could do to make it a happy addition to my life.
I can't help myself.
It's how I'm wired.
Now, I want to help you get there.
