Our site is a little different, it's designed to be useful for both the sighted and people who use screen readers (aka: my friends who are blind.)
Your first step begins by learning how Couch to Active can serve you.
Each Monday Lyn hosts a free orientation with Zoom. This is the fastest way to learn about the resources available and get set up with the best ones for you.
This is open to prospective and current students.
Mondays 11am Pacific / 2pm Eastern
The session is free, but you must sign up. This is how I keep the internet spammers at bay.

This all sounds fantastic, but...
I'm overwhelmed and frustrated with myself.
I hear ya, this is not your first rodeo and you have very real challenges to success. Adding one more do-do item to your list on a day when you might not feel well in the first place only adds to our stress. This is why our offerings are designed to work with you right where you are at so you can see progress without the overwhelm.
I'm nervous to join an online group class.
Wow, if my current students heard you say this they'd say, hon come join us! We have grown a very sweet and supportive group of women with a few good men who exercise together and support each other through their challenges. Plus, you don't have to be on video, probably half of our students aren't.
But, I have so many health issues.
If this is you, then compassion for yourself and your reality is the hardest work of all. This is why I offer weekly group classes titled "Mobility and Stability" which are designed specifically for people of all abilities. The vibe in these classes are so warm they melt my heart. I'm blind, can you really help me?
When I first opened Couch to Active I hadn't even given a single thought to working with people who are completely blind. However, through either dumb luck or divine intervention we have ended up with about 1/3 of our clients being blind. Fast forward to today I've become great at teaching classes that also work well for our audio-only students. Plus, they continue to help me make this website easier and easier to navigate with screen readers. I won't say I'm an expert, but I am adoring the fusion of and inclusion of friends.
Hi, I'm Lyn.
I'm your fearless leader, and I have three chronic health issues that make exercise difficult.
These health issues fuel my compassion for people and my understanding of what it really takes to get moving when life gets in the way. Even with my physical challenges, I manage to exercise just about every day of the week.
My personal favorite type of exercise is anything with friends; that makes me smile.
I'm a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Mat Pilates Instructor, Certified Group Fitness Instructor, and Certified Cycling Instructor, and I have taught thousands of people in over a dozen in fitness centers. I'm a fitness influencer, speaker, podcaster, exercise nutrition specialist, aging specialist, and award winning author of Couch to Active.
It would be my honor to work with you to make health and fitness something you actually enjoy!
